Scope of Contract: Under the supervision of the Project Liaison Officer,(PLO), the Crop      Production Technical Officer (CPTO) will serve as the main operational link between the Project Liaison Officer and the field including the Government Crop and Agricultural Engineering Extension Officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Rural Development, and all other stakeholders involved with implementation of the project.

The Crop Production Technical Officer will provide support to the Project Liaison Officer for the day-to-day implementation and management of the project activities to be implemented under the Contingent Emergency Response Component (CERC), to support Saint Lucia’s response to food insecurity.

The CPTO will:

  1. Oversee and coordinate the implementation of the Crop Production Component of the CERC project, Crop production-related activities of the CERC project
  2. Oversee and coordinate the timely preparation and submission of technical specifications to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and early delivery of Crop Production goods and services procured for the CERC project.
  3. Maintain on-going communications with the Project Liaison Officer, the Extension and Advisory Services Division, The Banana Unit and The Agricultural Engineering Division and all stakeholders.
  4. Bring to the Project Liaison Officer’s attention, implementation issues requiring the intervention or decision of the Project Liaison Officer.
  5. Monitor and evaluate project progress with the aim to identify and communicate risks to the Project Liaison Officer.
