CLIMATE FINANCE UNIT (CFU) LOGO DESIGN CONTEST

Saint Lucia faces increasing threats from climate change. These threats manifest in stronger and more frequent storms, rising sea levels, coastal erosion, and impacts on agriculture and water resources. Storms like Hurricane Allen (1980), Hurricane Tomas (2010), the Christmas Eve Trough (2013), and the flooding in Corinth (2022) have severely impacted Saint Lucia’s infrastructure and economy. These disasters have highlighted the need for significant amounts of funding from a variety of international and domestic sources to assist with recovery, adaptation and mitigate actions. As a response to this critical national need, in March 2025, the Cabinet of Minister approved the establishment of a Climate Finance Unit (CFU). The CFU’s mandate is to serve as the coordinating entity, leading national efforts to mobilize, access, manage, monitor and report on funding into Saint Lucia from regional and international sources to address climate change impacts. These funds will be used to support projects in areas such as climate resilience, renewable energy and energy efficiency, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable agriculture. This logo design competition is intended to get a unique and impactful logo that embodies the mandate of the CFU: “Increasing the acquisition of financial resources from regional and international sources for climate change related initiatives in Saint Lucia."
